BRRRR!!! Is is as cold where you are as it is here in eastern
Kentucky. The temperatures for the last few days have been bottoming
out in the teens. We’ve had an otherwise notably mild winter so
I’m not going to complain. You didn’t stop by the website to read
any complaints anyway! I’ve been doing some writing with some great
folks the last few weeks and having a ball. I finished 3 brand
new songs with Karen Peck for their new project due out next month.
I’ve heard the cuts and they are awesome. It was great to get to
be a part of this project. They are some of my dearest friends.
I also wrote a song with the members of an incredible new group
with Daywind called Austin’s Bridge. Be watching for them because
they are exceptional. Just this week I got to write with Ann Downing,
Michael Puryear (a legend in the music business) and Twila Labar.
So, I’ve had the creative juices flowing and had a lot of fun in
the process. I’m so excited about this year. I have plans to record
a new project of all original material and do a greatest hits DVD
of some my songs that have been top 40 hits for other artists as
well as do some more traveling. My schedule that is confirmed will
start to show up on the website this month so check it out and
come and be with me in service sometime.
I
wrote the first paragraph of this newsletter the first couple
of days of the month not realizing that a car accident the following
frosty Monday morning was going to have me laid up for several
days. I was driving over in Ohio headed to a recording session
when a semi-truck drove by and dropped a great deal of sludge and
snow from the under carriage of the truck onto his wheels which
immediately covered my car and the Pepsi van in front of me to
the point of no visibility. It was about 3 degrees outside and
neither my wipers nor the Pepsi van’s wipers would work due to
being frozen. I hit my brakes to slow down as quickly as possible
but the Pepsi van slammed on his and stopped in the middle of the
road. We crashed and totaled my car, separated my ribs, got 5 tears
in the muscle tissue surrounding my ribs and multiple cuts, bruises
etc. For 2 weeks I did little sleeping because the pain was severe
but I’m feeling much better now. Look at the bottom of this page
for aftermath pictures of the accident.. I’m very thankful
that
the
Lord was with me and that the injuries were not more serious. It
has reminded me how thankful I am for the good health that I experience
all of the time. There are so many people who deal with chronic
pain and I had a small taste of that for a couple of weeks. I had
to repent for a lot of things that I take for granted.
I did have some down time to do some planning, thinking and catching
up (not necessarily in that order) and it was good. Hope you stay
warm and enjoy the rest of this season, whatever it may be wherever
you are. Thanks for stopping by to visit and drop me an email when
you get a chance. I’ve enjoyed the many emails I’ve gotten the
last few weeks. They have been a great encouragement and so interesting
to hear your stories. Until next month…………
Blessings!
