Today in Kentucky is the most beautiful summer day I think I have
ever seen. It’s hot, but not too hot. The sun is shining but if
you get in the shade there is a perfect breeze. I love summer even
when it is 100 degrees outside. I hope where you are that you are
able to enjoy this season. Just think, in a little over a month
we’ll be looking at fall.
I am looking forward to some concert dates this month with some
great friends. If you’re in the area (check the itinerary page),
come out and visit with us. I have also been busy in the studio
producing some great groups and, as I told you, I’ve been looking
forward to sharing some exciting news with you. With the help of
some of my best friends, we are starting a record label. You will
be seeing a lot more about that in the coming months so make sure
that you check in from time to time to hear new clips and find
out about what is going on.
I have been thinking a lot this year about the favor of God. A
lot of people feel like they are anything but favored by God and
to be honest I felt the same way for a long time. In the last few
years, I have realized that we can all be God’s favorites. That
may sound ridiculous, but He loves with a love that we can’t really
understand and His favor isn’t based on your past but it’s based
on the future that he has planned for you. I’m thankful that God
does not think like I think. I am more thankful everyday that the
bible is so right when it says that His ways are higher than ours.
That’s the reason I wake up every morning looking forward to what
the Lord is going to do that day. I know it’s going to be something
new and I know it’s going to be something good. He has the same
plan for you. Don’t settle for anything less! Have a great week.
Enjoy some alone time with the Lord and a good glass of lemonade.
This is the best time of year for the two of those together.
