Newsletter
- March
Well,
it’s starting to look like winter is winding down. Of course, that’s
not to say we still won’t have a big snow here in the hills of Kentucky
but at least now we can start to see the light at the end of the
tunnel where spring is concerned. I told you in an earlier newsletter
that I love winter until New Year’s Day and then I’m done with it
and that is 100 % true. We’ve had a couple of days in the 60 degree
range and we’re getting spoiled already.
Believe
it or not, I have finally gotten my vocals finished on my new project,
the “Tribute,” and all that’s left is the mix so it won’t be long
now. Thank you to everyone who has been asking about it. I’ll keep
you posted as to the actual release date. I’m looking very forward
to doing some traveling and singing starting next month and also
filling in with Karen Peck and New River at the end of the month.
They are still some of my favorite people in the world. By the way,
Shirley and I made it through the 21 day fast with our church and
I have been amazed at the way God has been working and answering
prayer. I really like what Pastor Chuck’s wife, Jamie, had to say
about fasting. She said that it’s not done to appease God, but rather
to release God through our obedience. It didn’t hurt to lose 20
pounds either. (chuckle)
I
hope this year, even though it’s just begun, is proving to be a
good year for you. If things have been rough so far, don’t forget
that you’re going to wake up to a new day tomorrow and that just
as God’s mercy will be new, so will His fresh strength to carry
you through whatever you have to face. We really are never alone.
Most
of you have already heard that Anthony Burger went home to be with
the Lord February 22nd. He was on one of Bill Gaither’s Homecoming
Cruises and passed away during a concert. Please remember to pray
for his family and the family of Doug Riley, drummer for Gold City
who died in a car accident just shortly before Anthony. These deaths
seem so premature but we know that even when we don’t understand,
God’s ways are higher than ours. I look forward to seeing you sometime
soon at a concert and don’t forget to email me when you get a chance.
Thank you to all of you who keep in touch. God bless and I’ll talk
to you again in a few days when Spring is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
